About East Middle School

The mission of DeSoto East Middle School is to achieve academic and social excellence through knowledge, respect, and responsibility.

DeSoto East Middle School (formerly DeSoto Junior High School) is part of the DeSoto Independent School district.  The campus, now known as DeSoto East Middle School, opened in 1962.  It served as the district's high school from 1962 until 1976 when the high school moved to its current location at 600 Eagle Drive. At that time the campus was renamed DeSoto Junior High School and served grades seven and eight.  When DeSoto West Junior High School opened in 1987, the campus was renamed DeSoto East Junior High School.  As part of the district-wide grade realignment plan during the 2007-2008 school year, DeSoto East became a middle school serving grades six, seven, and eight.

We are having our Parent Engagement Spring Bling May 23rd from 5pm-7pm. We will highlight East Middle school band students, Theatre Arts students, and students who participated in the composition of "Can we Say Something," a collection of published works by our students.  The event will feature some of our premiere students who have performed at high-levels this school year. We would love for you and your family to be in attendance.
