I am a native Spanish speaker from El Salvador, Central America. For the past 12 years, I have taught Spanish 1 and Introduction to Spanish at DeSoto East. During my classes, my students experience listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish as well as exploring the beauties of Latin countries and cultures.

In my home country, I received a bachelor's degree from the "Universidad Panamericana" and for 14 years, I taught students from kindergarten up to 12th grade. In the recent 17 years, I've taught Spanish I-III in Texas. Additionally, I earned a Standard Teaching Certificate for "Classroom Teacher - Secondary Spanish (grades 6 -12) as well as a "Spanish Language Certification" from the AP Summer Institute at UT Arlington.
